Lessons in Love: A Research-Based Relationship Enrichment Workshop Coming to Tokyo in 2025

Tokyo, Japan — 2025 — A new psycho-educational workshop, Lessons in Love: Seven Principles for Singles, will be offered in the Tokyo area in Spring 2026. The class is based on the internationally acclaimed research of Dr. John Gottman, as presented in his best-known work, The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work, adapted to support singles seeking stronger, healthier relationships.

The workshop will be presented by Colin Coxall, an accomplished CBT Therapist and Gottman Leader based in Tokyo. Drawing on decades of evidence-based research, the class offers practical tools and insights designed to help participants better understand themselves and build meaningful, resilient connections.

Lessons in Love is ideal for individuals who may not wish to attend counseling but are open to an educational, skills-based workshop focused on relationship enrichment. Participants will learn principles that can strengthen current relationships, improve future partnerships, and foster greater emotional awareness and connection. Individuals who are currently single often report the class as an enriching and empowering personal development experience.

For those experiencing challenges in managing relationships, the workshop provides a clear, research-supported roadmap for building stronger connections. Trained Gottman Leaders will be present to guide participants through class exercises and learning activities.

This workshop is psycho-educational in nature and is designed to provide teaching and guidance. It is not a substitute for individual or couples therapy, and no therapy will be conducted during the sessions.
